QotD: Top 5 in '06 - Television
What were your top 5 TV shows of 2006?
1. Time Trumpet: The funniest thing on TV this year, nay, this decade.
2. QI: I can't get enough of Stephen Fry and this intellectually stimulating gameshow.
3. Balderdash and Piffle: Etymology rocks my socks.
4. Robin Hood: The vacuous girl in me greatly appreciates the eye candy in this. Plus, there's a rather obvious "we're all the same, no matter what race/religion" message in there. However unsubtle it is, it still gets aired to millions on BBC primetime and that can't be a bad thing.
5. The Office: I've watched every episode numerous times and it has me in cringe induced stitches every time.
Bravo BBC 2!
(6. America's Next Top Model: Terrifically tacky and brilliantly bitchy. We love a bit of model madness in our house.)
Comments
Good List. I need to get myself watching some QI
1. Arrested Development: Thinking person's silly, multilayered self referential hysterics, I have actually cried from Laughing too hard. Almost up there with Larry Sanders.
2. Curb you enthusiasm: The optimstically innocuous theme distracts from the fact that Larry David and co do the un-hollywood thing and treat us viewers like grown ups and I love them for it.
3. Time Trumpet: Damn, Armando has no weaknesses, poor David Cameron, hehe :)
4. The Apprentice: One word, Saeed
5.Dragon's Den: It nearly brings me to the edge of my seat! (okay so my arse already does that but you get the point)
But I could not get into Robin Hood - eye candy or not. It was just too silly.
Ah, The Appentice and Dragon's Den just missed my top 5.
